Hope I am not going to confuse the issue here by offering more choice (feel free to ignore if that is the case).But could I suggest Linux Lite which while being ubuntu based will run easily with 4GB of ram (1GB+ recommended minimum) and is set up “to make the transition from Windows to Linux Lite, as smooth as possible.” & “ A familiar, Windows like Desktop” as they state on there web site.
