Ok we're nearly there Matilda
now copy & paste the following command into the terminal

sudo chmod 744 /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/PS1Dfw.usb

then once again

Code: [Select]
sudo ls -l  /usr/share/sane/gt68xx

then post the output
